Livin la Vida FIFA
The FIFA World Cup is the biggest single-event sporting competition in the world; the kind of promotional opportunity marketers dream of being a part of. So, when Sony Music Entertainment Brazil signed on as sponsor, they wanted to deliver a campaign fit for this world-class stage.
The solution? Get the crowd involved!
They challenged music and football fans alike to submit original songs and compete for the opportunity to have their tune performed by global superstar and Sony Music recording artist, Ricky Martin. The resulting SuperSong would be included on the official soundtrack for the 2014 World Cup.
GENERATOR brought the competition to life with a global website that supported multiple countries and several languages. The site garnered 4,738 song submissions from 33 different countries, and has seen a quarter million votes and 4.5M visits to date!
Most importantly, a star was born. We’d like to congratulate SuperSong winner Elijah King for his winning track, “Vida.” He will collaborate with Ricky Martin on the official recording, and will travel to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil this July.
